If you have a SSD PCIE card from Sonett, there is a disadvantage, When I spooled on the 5.1, I had to do that also.īut now even with mounted dmg that did work. I did read the posts and mounted the 2009 FW image. Yes makes sense, that it is the 2 hexa v.s. If you got this Error message (5570), please read some posts before.Īnd you dont have any disadvantage upgrading to the 5.1. I upgraded from 2 x Quad to 2 x Hexa (2,93 Ghz) and then the RAM was switched to 1333 Mhz. I guess this has to do with the Quad Core Prozessor. Other wise I`ll get a couple of Xeons and upgrade.īut im worried that the Ram still stays 1066.

So I do unterstand its risky, just hoping some one had the same problem. I build several Hackintoshes from the first one, the Core 2 Duo. Now I cant downgrade any more, 5570 error, downloading and mounting the 2009 EFI.dmg didn't help either. Since it does not work, I wanted to go back, because I use a SSD PCI card and with 5.1 we can't choose the startup disk from cold boot. I read that the original 2 processor 8 core X5550 2.66 is capable of running 1333 ram. Its the Ram for the 2010 Mac Pro.Īny one tried this with the X5550 successfully ? The Ram is 3x8GB OWC 1333, in Slot 1, 2 and 3. « Last Edit: January 25, 2015, 08:21:54 AM by Condeavor1 »īut, even after several times PRAM and SMC reset, it sticks 1066. According to Intel, these processors fully support 1333Mhz RAM. so I may not be interpreting that right, so correct me if im wrong in saying thw 1333Mhz is active?ĮDIT3: I have now installed Lion on a secondary SSD and I do see under Hardware it listing (as it did in Yosemite) as a 5,1- but should it still show 2009 Mac Pro on the About this Mac page? Also, no change in RAM.

I'm still trying to fin the exact clocking of the RAM (been a while since I went that in-depth while in Windows, and it's Windows 10 Beta, so.), but Geekbench reported single stream processes at 1334. dammitĮDIT2: OK, so after entering Windows it shows my EFI as 5,1 so it's there obviously. If anyone has had similar issues, i would appreciate.ĮDIT1: I now see it's limited to Lion.

I'm have yet to see if Windows is seeing the full RAM speed, but am not confident. I've cleared the PRAM, but cannot think of why it may not be functioning.

The app is reporting 2010 EFI is installed in Yosemite, but my system report is not reflecting it.
